More about your course
Learning how to paint in an abstract manner can be enjoyable but also frustrating for many. Painting loosely but with a purpose isn’t as easy as it may look. During "Absolutely Abstracts: The Art of Texture and Expressive Acrylic Painting Techniques" students will explore many ways to conquer the fear of the blank canvas and learn how to make abstract painting less intimidating. During this course we will be using acrylic paint and other mixed media components to achieve this and more!
Join Artist, Instructor, and Author of "Abstracts in Acrylic & Ink", Jodi Ohl, for this comprehensive and exciting new workshop. With her down to earth approach and professional experience, Jodi will help make abstract painting accessible to anyone. Simply put the work in from this course and you will see results. This course will help you bridge the gap from what you wish to do, to what you CAN do with acrylic paint and a few other mixed media supplies.
Have You Ever:
Have you ever found yourself asking these questions or having similar thoughts when you are trying to paint abstracts:
I’m staring at a blank canvas and don’t know where to start.
What products do I use and how do I use them to get the effects I desire?
I’ve been painting for hours and have no idea what to do next. Where do I go from here?
When I don’t have a concrete subject matter, what is my endgame? How do I develop a composition?
How do you know when you are finished?
Absolutely Abstracts: The Art of Texture and Expressive Acrylic Painting Techniques, will BEGIN to address many of these questions. The course will have students explore abstract painting through multiple lessons focusing on applying texture, creating depth with color and design, understand how to use line work and mark making to create gorgeous layers within an abstract work of art.
