What a Whirlwind Adventure to Ireland and Italy!

Holy Moly-It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had a chance to write a post, create a newsletter, and check in with you!

Since we last chatted, I’ve had a whirlwind of activities and travel to places I’ve only dreamed about until last month! As some of you may have heard, I was a guest at Essence of Mulranny in Ireland where I led a group of artists for a week as we painted abstracted landscapes inspired by the amazing beautiful, and wild Western Coast of Ireland.

In addition to creating art with an amazing group of artists from around the world, we traveled to remote portions of Ireland to soak in the raw beauty and history of this sacred and magical country.

It isn’t hard to imagine how overflowing our creative juices were! It was also extra special to share so much time not just in the wonderful studio overlooking Clew Bay, but during all of our meals where we told stories of our diverse lives and laughed the days and nights away.

Our extraordinary hostess with the mostess, Lora Murphy made sure every detail was taken care of for our stay during the week, from exploring the area to dining on delicious fresh food, and of course, facilitating our creative experience at the Mulranny Arts Center where I shared my tips and tricks to create abstract works of art with my new friends.

If you missed this opportunity but want to join in another time, you are in luck! I’ll be returning to the MAC in 2026 with fresh new lessons and more creative inspiration to guide you in your journey. If you’d like to be notified when we list the next adventure in Mulranny that I’ll be leading, you can message me at jodi@jodiohl.com with the title IRELAND in the subject and I’ll be sure to add you to the wait list for this next experience. Or you can also use my contact form to reach out to me by going here.

After my week in Ireland, Jason and I went on to explore Ischia, Italy. Oh my goodness, I loved that gorgeous island as well. I have so many wonderful pictures and memories between both countries, I am bursting with new ideas for paintings and possibly an Italian workshop in the future.

Here’s just a few gorgeous pics from our time spent in Ischia (it deserves a post all of its own so I’ll share more in upcoming posts).

I still have several workshops coming up in 2024 including one next week at the Hudson River Art Workshop center in Greenville, NY (there’s a few spaces left if you want to be adventurous and join us)! I’d love for you to join me in NY, CT, Wisconsin, or Katy, Texas. See what’s coming up by stopping over HERE.

As I sign off to work on my next ‘to-do’, I just want to thank everyone that has entrusted me to guide them in their creative journey over the years. I am truly humbled by this growing tribe of amazing humans I have had the privilege to work with in person and online. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope to see YOU again soon!!
